Metallic protection tubes for use in molten metals must be used with care; Nickel containing alloys have short service lives in molten copper. In molten aluminum, all commercial Fe and Ni base alloys are quickly dissolved. Ceramic protection tubes can be more resistant but are expensive and prone to brittle fracture. Thermalloys has therefore developed a coated metal protection tube, Thermalloys CMA, which has a long service life in molten aluminum and other molten metals, without having the drawbacks of the ceramic protection tubes. Recommendations, different molten metals While FeCrAl alloys have an excellent corrosion resistance in molten magnesium and resist molten zinc up to 450 °C (842 °F), Thermalloys CMA is to prefer in molten aluminum, copper, lead and molten zinc above 450 °C (842 °F). Delivery times We are well prepared for fast deliveries of Thermalloys CMA in different diameters and lengths and can therefore offer short delivery times. |
